Community Care Program

The Community Care Program at SPCA Westchester makes essential veterinary care even more affordable for eligible Westchester County pet owners who receive government assistance. Through the program, participants receive an additional 50% discount on the already reduced rates for spay/neuter surgeries and routine wellness services at SPCA Westchester’s Cody’s Clinic. Our goal is to keep dogs and cats healthy while supporting the people who love and care for them.

-Spay/neuter surgeries for cats and dogs
-Hernia Repairs
-Wellness care-Examinations
-Vaccinations
-Lab Work (limited)

This program is for Westchester County residents who can show proof of Westchester County residency by submitting one of the following:

  • Utility bill
  • Apartment lease
  • Proof of government benefits in the name of the animal’s owner.

And proof of receipt of any of the following benefits:

  • Nutritional Assistance
  • Supplemental Social Security
  • Disability
  • Housing Assistance
  • Family Assistance
  • Safety Net Assistance
  • Medical Assistance

If you believe you qualify for reduced-rate services, you may schedule an appointment in one of the following ways:

Online:

  • Click here to make an appointment, but first, read the below bulleted points for the online appointment instructions.
  • Choose from a Spay/Neuter or Wellness appointment option.
  • Complete the requested information for the appointment.
  • Add the proof of residence and benefits at the bottom of the animal information page. Medical records should be added to this section as well.
  • Once submitted, you will receive a Pending e-mail.
  • After the documents are reviewed you will receive a Confirmation e-mail.
  • You may receive a phone call or e-mail if the staff has any further questions.
  • The appointment will not be set until you receive the Confirmation email.

In Person:

  • The clinic is open between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday – Friday.
  • The person making the appointment must be the owner of the animal with the requested proof of eligibility in their name.

E-mail:

  • Submit the form and requested proof of eligibility as an attachment to clinic@spcawestchester.org.
  • You will be called by the clinic staff to complete the appointment request.

Community Care Program appointments can NOT be made over the phone.

For all appointment requests:

  • Every animal needs their own appointment.
  • No more than 2 animals can be booked per person per day.
  • There is a required $50 deposit for spay and neuters and a $25 deposit for wellness visits.
  • If an appointment needs to be rescheduled please call 914-914-2896 x 110 or e-mail clinic@spcawestchester.org.
  • If an appointment needs to be canceled the deposit will be refunded if the cancelation is made 48 hours prior to the spay and neuter and 24 hours for wellness. If the cancelation is made after that time or the client does not show for the appointment the deposit will not be returned.
