Our Adoption Process
We’re dedicated to finding the best possible match for both you and our dogs. We welcome you to stop by SPCA Westchester to meet our wonderful dogs. Each dog has unique traits, so take your time finding the right fit for your family. We allow walk-ins to stop by and meet our dogs and our open for adoptions every day between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. We also have extended hours until 6 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
Once you’ve identified a potential match, complete an adoption application. This gives us insight into your home, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a furry companion. Additional steps of the adoption process include a meet and greet in your home to allow you to spend time with your new dog to see if it’s a mutual match, as well as to ensure safety and suitability for your new canine friend. You will also meet with an adoption counselor to help you find the right match for you and your family. We do provide same-day adoptions, so be prepared to go home with your new dog on the day of adoption. All adoption fees are due at that time.
